Here are a few key things to know that may not have been covered on the podcast enough. Keep these in mind when narrowing down your bets and/or player pool.

  • TPC River Highlands is one of the shortest courses on the PGA TOUR with 40-46% of approach shots coming from 125-175 yards, according to DataGolf

  • The average driving distance at this event since 2015 has been a mere 283 yards w/ driving accuracy just shy of 70%

  • The fairways are wider than average at around 38 yards.

  • TPC River Highlands ranks in the top 10 in terms of penalty for missing the fairway

  • Average GIR % since 2015 at River Highlands is 71% and among the easier on Tour

  • Leishman, Knox, Streelman, Spieth, English, & Reavie are all past champions playing this week

  • The average winning score over the last 7 years has been -15 and the average outright for the winner has been only 35/1

  • Streelman in 2014 was the last triple digit outright to win

  • The 2 par 5's are reachable by most of the field and 1 of the driveable par 4's is reachable by virtually everyone

  • The small greens put like bentgrass. Don't get caught up in the poa conversation

Going pretty balls to the wall here with this 5 way Flex Only Play. We don't have to get all 5 right. If you only get 3 right, you still win money. But hitting all 5 pays out 10x.12.5 GIR per round is the AVERAGE over the last 5 years here at TPC River Highlands. Spieth & Cantlay are far from average and hitting it just fine at the moment. I'm not willing to completely bail on Tommy Lad after 1 tough ball striking round in round 2 of the USO. He hit it great round 1, but just couldn't putt worth a crap either round. The average # of fairways hit here since 2015 has been 9.8. I believe Tommy Kankles can land 9 fairways after a weekend of rest. Keegan and Mito are just too studly to avoid here given their form. 4 birdies w/ 2 gettable par 5s, 2 potentially driveable par 4s and 8 other par 4s under 450 yards shouldn't be a problem on a rain soaked golf course for Mito.Tail at your own risk.
