We’re keeping a close eye on potential wave advantages with calm opening round conditions yielding to wind and rain on Friday. The mornings should see the strongest gusts on both days, but we’ll have to see just how hard the rain falls headed into the second round.

For final analysis on weather advantages and tee times, make sure you tune into the Nut Hut live chat starting around 9pm ET for the latest and final thoughts on the weather this week...GET IN THERE

Daniel Berger -119 ($8600) vs. Viktor Hovland -102 ($9100)

The overseas line-setters are backing Daniel Berger in a 72-hole head-to-head against Viktor Hovland this week despite a $500 price discrepancy according to DraftKings DFS.

With a first-time PGA TOUR venue this week, we obviously have no course history to work with. In terms of recent form, I’d give the slight edge to DB, who has eight-straight top-30 finishes, five of which are better than T15. Hovland does have the recent win, but both are coming in hot.

Both of these guys are popular DFS plays this week. According to our Nut Hut Ownership Projections available in the Discord, Hovland is the fifth-highest owned player at just under 20%, while Berger isn’t far behind him at 16%.

Get to know the 2025 PGA Tour Rookies

Thanks to recent eligibility changes from the PGA Tour, 45 newly-minted Tour Cards were handed out ahead of the 2025 season. Each week, we’ll spotlight a few up-and-comers whose names will be important to know as the year progresses.

Rasmus Hojgaard - Denmark

With 22 PGA TOUR starts to his name entering 2025, Rasmus Hojgaard sure doesn’t feel like a rookie, but this marks his first year as a full, card-carrying member thanks to his top-10 finish in last year’s DP World Tour Race to Dubai. The 24-year-old holds five career wins worldwide, and he nearly captured a sixth and his first PGA TOUR win at the Zurich a few weeks back, where he and twin brother Nicolai finished runner-up.

Thriston Lawrence - South Africa

Perhaps best known for his 4th place finish at Royal Troon last year, Lawrence earned his TOUR Card via the DPWT eligibility rankings despite not winning a single event on the circuit in 2024. The 28-year-old had eight top tens, however, and he notched a victory on the African Tour in the Sunbet Challenge. Unfortunately for him, his success hasn’t yet translated to the PGA TOUR. He has just two made cuts through nine starts in 2025 and has yet to finish higher than T54.

Over-Unders for the Truist Championship

We’re flying a little blind this week as the TOUR heads to Philadelphia Cricket Club for the first time. That said, I’m leaning into grass-type fits and weather conditions to inform this play.

It’s been a wet spring so far in Pennsylvania, and with virtually no wind expected in round one, I’m backing best pals Xander and Patrick to shoot -2 or better.

BTN Weekly Prop Play
2025 Record: (3-11-3) [-8 units]

Tournament Matchup: Daniel Berger (-110) v Shane Lowry

This is one of the tighter matchups at the Truist Championship, but Berger holds the edge when we trust the model. Over the last 12 rounds, Berger has outperformed Lowry across nearly every key statistical category. A deeper dive into the BTN Model shows Berger with a significant advantage in the 125–175 yard approach range—a critical bucket at Philly Cricket Club this week. Both players are in solid form, but if it comes down to a few putts on Sunday, we like Berger to come out on top.

Stats over the last 24 rounds

*DISCLAIMER: The Chalk Bomb is CHALK for a reason! This is a ballsy call. We're simply giving you 1 player projected to be highly owned that we think could warrant a fade in order to gain leverage in DFS GPP Tournaments. Sack up & fade OR ignore the play.

The year’s second major is right around the corner, but before we turn our attention to Quail Hollow, we’ve got a real treat up in Philly.

Not only do we have a stacked field as befits a “signature event” with an elevated $20 million purse, but we’re also being introduced to the incredible Wissahickon course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club as the nation’s oldest country club hosts a PGA TOUR event for the very first time.

Zero course history presents a challenge from a handicapping perspective, but thankfully, our friends at Bet the Number have some on-the-ground insight to point us toward which player we should be fading as the Chalk Bomb for the Truist Championship.

As always, the Chalk Bomb is limited to players projected at over 15% ownership in DFS according to our proprietary projections available in the Tour Junkies Discord. Scottie Scheffler may have opted to take the week off, but virtually every other big name is in Philly this week, as we have 11 Chalk-Bomb-eligible golfers to choose from.

So without further ado, let’s dive into the model that BTN has cooked up specifically for Philadelphia Cricket Club to see where the Chalk Bomb stands. This week, the model is highlighting Driver Carry Distance, Strokes Gained Approach from 125-175 yards, Birdie or Better Percentage and Strokes Gained Putting from 8-15 Feet on Bentgrass. All of these are calculated over the last 36 rounds with the exception of putting, which is over the last 16.

With that in mind, here’s where this week’s Chalk Bomb ranks among the field of 72 players in each of those categories.

Driver Carry Distance — 25th
SG: APP from 125-175 — 33rd
Birdie or Better % — 7th
Strokes Gained Putting from 8”-15” on Bentgrass — 66th

I know what you’re thinking — those numbers really aren’t that bad. But when we’re comparing to the rest of the star-studded lineup that’s owned at over 15%, you have to grade with a sharp pencil.

It’s not that I hate this guy this week, and at only $9100 on DK, I can understand the ownership steam. But nearly 20%-owned is worth a fade as you could gain a real advantage if this guy stumbles through the weekend.

So for our first (and hopefully not last) visit to Philadelphia Cricket Club…

When we are dumb and inexperienced teenagers, humans have to make some of the most important decisions that guide our lives and future. Go figure.

It really feels wrong for a number like 777,777,772 to be even and not odd.

Every bald person has already had the best hair day they will ever have.

Alright folks—that’s all I’ve got for the Truist Championship at Philly Cricket Club! Stay well, and good luck with all your PGA DFS lineups and bets. BOME!
