As expected North of the border, we might see some long sleeves early in the mornings with temps in the high fifties and a consistent breeze of around 10 MPH. The Thursday morning wave could see the worst of the conditions, with a small chance of showers and gusts approaching 20 MPH possible.

Kurt Kitayama -116 ($8400) vs. Wyndham Clark -104 ($8600)

We’ve got our eye on the $8k range this week, where the sharp line setters favor Kurt Kitayama in a 72-hole matchup against Wyndham Clark despite a higher DFS cost for the 2023 US Open champion

As a first-time PGA TOUR venue, obviously neither player has any experience at TPC Toronto, but it might be worth noting that Clark has played in three previous Canadian Opens (MC, MC, T7) while Kitayama will be making his debut at this event.

In terms of DFS ownership, these two are neck and neck. Our Nut Hut Ownership Projections available in the Discord show that both Clark and Kitayama are sitting right at 6.8% ownership.

Get to know the 2025 PGA Tour Rookies

Thanks to recent eligibility changes from the PGA Tour, 45 newly-minted Tour Cards were handed out ahead of the 2025 season. Each week, we’ll spotlight a few up-and-comers whose names will be important to know as the year progresses.

Lanto Griffin - Mount Shasta, CA

Lanto Griffin earned his PGA TOUR card for 2025 with medalist honors at Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School, punctuated by a closing-round 63. A proven TOUR winner, Griffin owns five professional victories, including the 2019 Houston Open, and previously secured promotion via the Korn Ferry Tour in 2017 and 2019. After battling injuries and inconsistent form, he made 18 cuts in 22 starts during the 2024 season. After a promising start to 2025 that featured a T9 at the Farmers and a T25 in Mexico, Griffin has since fallen off – failing to finish higher than T40 in his last 10 starts, and missing seven cuts in that span.

Will Chandler - Atlanta, GA

A true underdog story, Will Chandler earned PGA TOUR membership after a dramatic 2024 season that began with limited status on the KFT. After a modest college career at the University of Georgia, he turned pro in 2021 and spent time on mini-tours and PGA TOUR Canada. In 2024, he Monday-qualified into four Korn Ferry Tour events and gained conditional status. He secured his PGA TOUR card with a top-five finish at Final Stage of Q-School, highlighted by a closing 66. Chandler made headlines with a T6 finish at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open, playing in the final group alongside World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

Over-Unders for the Canadian Open

Let’s see if we can stay hot for a third-straight tournament and take advantage of the 50% profit boost on offer at Underdog this week.

TPC Toronto is new to the PGA TOUR, but we have some history on the developmental tours to learn from, as well as plenty of boots-on-the-ground insight. The early word suggests this layout is much more getable than the last few hosts of Canada’s national open, so I’m backing a pair of guys who show up well in our models to shoot a modest round under par on this par-70.

These two should also have the benefit of lighter winds in the afternoon on Thursday.

Tournament Matchup: Cam Young (+100) v Wyndham Clark

This week’s matchup pits the surging Cam Young against a struggling Wyndham Clark. Clark’s recent form is rough—he’s lost strokes tee to green in three of his last four events and has been especially poor on approach, dropping strokes in three straight, including a brutal -7.9 at the Memorial. That’s a major red flag.

Cam Young, on the other hand, is trending in the right direction. He just punched his ticket to the U.S. Open and has posted two top-25 finishes in his last four starts. More importantly, he’s gained strokes in both ball striking and tee to green play in three straight events—a strong sign he’s rounding into form.

The model sees value here too, and with Young at even money, we’ll gladly take the upside and back him to keep the momentum rolling.

*DISCLAIMER: The Chalk Bomb is CHALK for a reason! This is a ballsy call. We're simply giving you 1 player projected to be highly owned that we think could warrant a fade in order to gain leverage in DFS GPP Tournaments. Sack up & fade OR ignore the play.

We’ve got the rare treat of back-to-back national opens on the golf calendar this summer, and this week’s Canadian Open serves as an exciting appetizer to the year’s third major right around the corner.

This edition of the Canadian Open has once again drawn a relatively strong field, especially when you consider the US Open is taking place the following week. Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg, Shane Lowry and of course, Canada’s best, are here to take on a new venue at this event: TPC Toronto.

Though actually about two hours from downtown Toronto, this venue has previously hosted events on the PGA Tour Americas and other developmental tours, but this will be its debut in the big leagues.

As expected with no Scottie Scheffler in the field as his counterweight, Rory is eating up a hefty 40% ownership in DFS according to our projections available in the Discord. But who else above our 15% threshold could be a good target to fade this week?

Let’s start with the model that our friends at Bet the Number have cooked up based on previous course data from these minor league tournaments as well as their own on-site research.

This week, they’re keying in on the following stats: Strokes Gained Off the Tee, Strokes Gained Approach from 120-200 Yards, Strokes Gained Putting on Bent Greens and Bent/Poa and Bogey Avoidance. All stats are calculated over the last 30 rounds, with the exception of putting, which is over the last 20.

Here’s where this week’s Chalk Bomb ranks among the field of 156 in those categories:

SG: Off the Tee — 13th
SG: Approach from 120-200 — 47th
SG: Putting on Bent/Poa — 59th
Bogey Avoidance — 93rd

Now, I hate to bet against a Canadian here — especially one who’s in such good form. Not too many players other than Scottie Scheffler can claim to have had a better last couple of weeks than this guy, who finished T5 at the PGA before bagging a T12 at the Memorial.

But with the fifth-highest DFS price on DraftKings at $9600 and an ownership percentage north of 20%, zigging on this player while everyone else is zagging could prove to be profitable.

So without further ado…

Taylor Pendrith, you are the Chalk Bomb!

The air fryer says “1 minute left,” then seems to enter a new time zone. Same with the dryer. These appliances just need to be honest with us damnit.

The world is crazy right now. I mean, at this point, the only thing that might save us is a full return of eighties hair bands. It’s time.

I’ve really got to find a new way to end emails besides, “If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.” Help me. Please.

Alright folks—that’s all I’ve got for the RBC Canadian Open. Stay well, and good luck with all your PGA DFS lineups and bets. BOME!
