If golf research were sexual...you'd be rounding 2nd base after this.

  • Elevation and thin, desert air make the ball travel farther. Plus, the greens are dry and usually run. Distance is neutered at this spot. Bombers will club down in spots.

  • To make a lot of birdies, guys have to hit it close to these large, flat, bentgrass greens. To hit it close and control spin, you'd prefer to be in good position off the tee.

  • In 2018, they added over 100 bunkers on the course to primarily combat guys off the tee carrying it to far.

  • All 3 Par 5's are fairly reachable for the entire field

  • Webb and Ryan Moore hold the 72 hole tournament scoring record here

  • Kevin Na, Jim Furyk, and Martin Laird have won here more than once

  • This is a wedge contest. Tons of wedges and short irons into these greens.

  • Data Golf has TPC San Antonio and Monterrey Peninsula CC as comp courses to TPC Summerlin & puts a slightly above average value on Course History here in terms of predictive value

  • Top 5 SG: Ball Striking at TPC Summerlin (min 10 rounds) - Piercy, Ryder, Laird, Koepka, & Henley

  • Bottom 5 SG: Ball Striking at TPC Summerlin (min 10 rounds) - Clark, Power, Gay, Todd, & M. Thompson

Sorry. Ben F'ed up his computer and couldn't get these out. We'll include them in the Chalk Bomb tomorrow if it's fixed by then. We apologize.

Chad Ramey$6,800 on DK180/1 Outright+650 for Top 20We're featuring 2 Mississippi natives this week on the heals of the Sanderson Farms. Chad played Mississippi State and finished 3rd in order of merit just behind Mito on the KFT season last year. Last season, Chad made 26 cuts in a row with 21 top 25s, 11 Top 10s and a win at the Live + Work in Maine Open. He's really an all around solid player without any real glaring weaknesses other than lacking a little pop in the bat. But, he's deadly accurate as he finished 4th in DA and 3rd in GIR despite the lack of distance. In terms of short game, he finished 3rd in Scrambling and 12th in Putting Average. He's started this season with a MC, and a T63 last week at the Sanderson. The irons have been tremendous, but the putter has been abnormally cold. He seems like a decent flyer at a course requiring precision over distance.Hayden Buckley$6,600 on DK180/1 Outright+650 for Top 20The Mississippi native is a "chip on your shoulder" kind of guy. He was a walk on at Missouri that eventually finished with the lowest scoring average in school history and a 1st team all SEC member. He qualified for the PGA TOUR through the KFT Finals with help from his win at the LECOM Suncoast Classic earlier in the year. He made 22 of 35 cuts with 5 Top 10s on the KFT last season, despite being a pretty shitty putter/short game guy. However, the ball striking is super solid! Big time Total Driving guy as he averaged 308 off the tee (48th) and 19th in Driving Accuracy. He hits a ton of GIR (9th on KFT last year). On weeks where he makes a few more putts, he could be deadly. We just saw him finish 4th at the Sanderson last week, a course he did have some familiarity with. He qualified for the US Open last year at Torrey and shot an opening round 69 before trunk slamming after an 82 on Friday. He's a streaky player that you could consider backing for cheap when he's rolling the putter well with confidence. He gained over 5 strokes putting last week at the Sanderson Farms.
