Heavy Petting 🍑Fortinet 2021

Heavy Petting 🍑Fortinet 2021

If golf research were sexual...you'd be rounding 2nd base after this.

  • Short Par 72 where any player type can win. Length is always a weapon, but not required here.

  • The course is yet again dry and set up to see firm fairways. This makes the deadly accurate drivers of the golf ball more enticing as they'll have a ton of wedges in hand.

  • These greens have a lot of undulation and slope. Not just hitting the GIR, but hitting it to the proper tier will lead to the most scoring opportunities.

  • Korn Ferry Tour graduates (now PGA TOUR rookies) have a history of competing here. There will be rookies that finish top 10 and some with winning upside.

  • Terrible putters have solid records and even wins here. Steele as a 2x winner has been a historically awful putter. Grillo won here. Reavie & Ryan Moore have great records here as historically bad putters.

  • The rough off the fairways isn't all that penal. Cameron Champ is on record saying as long as he misses the fairway on the proper side, he doesn't care if he's in the rough.

  • Justin Rose is on record saying all the par 5's are gettable by the field and most of the par 4's will have wedges in for the field.

  • SG: Around the Green shouldn't be a part of your model. If they're missing greens here, they're already behind. It's all about a high GIR % this week.

Taylor Moore$7,700 on DK70/1 Outright+270 for Top 20Taylor's a bonafide stud. He finished 4th in order of merit this past season on the Korn Ferry Tour with a win at the Memorial Health and 11 Top 10s. He was born in Texas. Played college golf at Arkansas. Currently lives in Oklahoma. He's a great total driver. He wasn't super long by KFT standards, but still averaged 306 off the tee and was top 25 in Driving Accuracy. Andrew Novak$6,500 on DK200/1 OutrightIf you were paying attention to my interview with Willy Wilcox, then you heard him rave about Andrew Novak. Novak finished 16th in the order of merit this past season. Born in Charleston, but now a proud member of the Sea Island Mafia. He played college golf at Wofford. He won the LECOM Suncoast Classic, had 10 top 10s and finished solo 3rd twice during the past season. He's kind of a grinder. His short game around the greens and putting would be his greatest strengths. However, he averaged 303 off the tee last season and middle of the pack in Driving Accuracy. Willy said he hits a 1 yard fade automatically with just about every iron in his bag.
