AT&T Pebble Beach 22 Heavy Petting

Heavy Petting 🍑AT&T Pebble Beach 2022

If golf research were sexual...you'd be rounding 2nd base after this.

  • In the last 5 years, we've had a 300/1, 500/1 and 160/1 winner. The field strength this week per OWGR is equivalent to the Fortinet from September. #LongShotSZN

  • Monterey is by far the easier course. Keep that in mind for showdowns and tee time rotations IF the weather appears interesting. Spyglass can play as tough as Pebble depending on the wind. Cut after 54 holes. T60 & ties.

  • Winning score O/U from sportsbooks is falling around -19.5. Birdie fest = Variance

  • Every caddie we've spoken to over the years has stressed the importance of local knowledge and experience in navigating Pebble Beach.

  • This is one of the shortest average driving distance tracks on the PGA TOUR and the greens on Pebble are some of the smallest on Tour. Attacking from the fairway is critical. Fairways are a priority.

  • All these greens are spongy, bumpy POA. Look for POA specialists.

  • Since 2000, every winner at PB had a previous T16 or better in their last 3 attempts at Pebble.

  • Mid to Long term best iron players in this field according to DataGolf: Berger, Zalatoris, Cantlay, Hoge, Knox, Rose, Griffin, C Bez, Glover, Reavie

  • Best cumulative score here since 2016: Day -72, Streelman -65, Spieth -61, Phil -52, Stallings & Taylor -41

  • With a lot of similarities to the AMEX a couple of weeks ago (field strength, birdie fest, Pro AM format, etc), remember the most optimal DraftKings lineup left like $6K on the table. Embrace the variance in DFS, leave cash on the table, & play to finish in the top 1% of lineups!
